Yali Jia, PhD

I began my research career in Oregon Health & Science University, where I received my Biomedical Engineering PhD degree under the mentorship of Prof. Ruikang Wang. Following 1-year postdoc training under the guidance of Prof. David Huang, I established my own team and co-direct Center for Ophthalmic Optics & Lasers Lab (coollab.net) at Casey Eye Institute where we develop and evaluate advanced optical imaging techniques for ophthalmic care. My main contribution to eye research is the innovations in optical coherence tomographic angiography (OCTA) and the application to eye diseases. I also have broad interests in biophotonics and imaging, structural and functional OCT, artificial intelligence and their clinical applications in ophthalmology.
