Shusheng Wang, PhD

Dr. Wang is an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology and Cell & Molecular Biology at Tulane University. He completed his doctoral studies at Tulane University and was trained as a postdoctoral fellow at UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas (UTSW). Starting 2009, he started as a tenure track assistant professor in the Department of Ophthalmology and the Pharmacology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. His lab relocated to the Department of Cell and Molecular Biology and the Department of Ophthalmology at Tulane University in 2012. The research in his lab is focused on the mechanism and therapeutics of microRNAs in vascular retinopathies. In addition to his BrightFocus Award, Dr. Wang is also the recipient of the Research to Prevent Blindness (RPB) Career Development Award.
