Jeffrey Gross, PhD

Jeff Gross received his bachelor of science degree in biology from the University of Maryland - Baltimore County in 1996, and his PhD in biology from Duke University in 2002. He then did postdoctoral research with John Dowling at Harvard University. In 2005, he was appointed assistant professor in the Section of Molecular Cell and Developmental Biology at the University of Texas at Austin; was promoted to associate professor with tenure in 2011; and to full professor in 2015. In August 2015, he moved his laboratory to the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical School, where he is the Dr. E. Ronald Salvitti Chair in Ophthalmology Research and director of the Louis J. Fox Center for Vision Restoration.
