Iman Aganj, PhD

Iman Aganj, PhD, is Assistant Professor of Radiology at Harvard Medical School, and a researcher at the Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging, Massachusetts General Hospital. He received his bachelor of science degree in computer science from École Polytechnique (Paris, France), and his master of science and PhD degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Minnesota. His doctoral work involved developing methods for the analysis of brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) data, for instance, for cortical thickness measurement, orientation estimation and tracking of the neuronal fibers from diffusion-weighted MRI, and high-resolution MRI reconstruction. His work as a postdoctoral fellow and faculty member at the Martinos Center consists of brain connectivity analysis, in addition to the design and implementation of new medical image registration (spatial alignment) techniques.
