Dr. Saffari is a professor of ultrasonics at University College London (UCL), where he leads the Ultrasonics Group. His research focuses on using therapeutic ultrasound to improve healthcare, including non-invasive treatments for tumours, delivering therapies directly to the liver, manipulating the behaviour of the nervous system, and improving prostate cancer detection. Nader Saffari’s team develops both advanced computer models and practical medical devices, working closely with clinicians and industry partners to bring new solutions to patients. His work continues to drive innovation in medical ultrasound, helping to create safer and more effective treatments.
