Biography

Dr. María Clara Dalmasso is an Associate Professor at the Studies in Neuroscience and Complex Systems unit (ENyS–CONICET/HEC/UNAJ) in Argentina, where she leads the Genetics and Alzheimer’s Research Group. She holds a PhD in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology from UNSAM and completed postdoctoral training in genomics, bioinformatics, and Alzheimer’s disease research across institutions in Argentina, the United States, and Germany. Her work focuses on understanding genetic, environmental, and molecular factors that influence dementia risk, with a strong commitment to improving diagnosis and prevention in underserved populations. She has contributed to major international consortia, including the European Alzheimer’s Data Bank (EADB), led the first genome-wide association studies of Alzheimer’s disease in South America, and founded the Genetics and Neuroimaging in Ageing and Dementia in Argentina Study (GeNED.ar). Through local and global collaborations, Dr. Dalmasso aims to advance inclusive, high-impact research that informs equitable precision medicine for Alzheimer’s disease.
