Dr. Kurt Farrell’s PhD in bioengineering at the Cleveland Clinic trained him in machine learning, deep learning, and computer vision. His postdoctoral training in experimental neuropathology at Mount Sinai School of Medicine has empowered him to translate and validate the results of computational approaches to human and cellular models. He has been an Assistant Professor at Mount Sinai since 2022. He currently works at the intersection of biomedical engineering and neuropathology and deploys machine learning models on whole slide images to generate quantitative endophenotypes. He was previously an NIH Ruth L. Kirschstein postdoctoral fellow, an AANP neurodegenerative disease scholar, and currently holds an NIH career development award.
