Dr. Julia Kofler (co-mentor) is a practicing neuropathologist, an Associate Professor of Pathology at the University of Pittsburgh, and the Co-director and Neuropathology Core Leader of the Pittsburgh Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (ADRC). Her research focuses on various phenotypes of Alzheimer’s disease, including the association between pathological phenotypes and genetic risk factors, the neurobiological correlations of psychosis, and neuroimaging studies using postmortem tissues. She will provide Dr. Liou with hands-on training in brain anatomy and Alzheimer’s-related neuropathology, as well as full access to neuropathology data and resources from the ADRC.
