Biography
Dr. Joshua Emmerson is a versatile and motivated neuropharmacologist with more than eight years of experience advancing our understanding of neurodegenerative disease, working to solve complex research problems, and working towards developing effective, disease-modifying therapeutics for conditions like Alzheimer’s disease and related tauopathies. Dr. Emmerson has played a leading role in creating and applying cutting-edge in vivo models to study disease mechanisms and evaluate therapeutic strategies with emphasis on translational aspects. His published work has led to novel discoveries on both early and late-stage progression of Alzheimer’s and related tauopathies. He has contributed to bringing novel drugs into preclinical development. While he is an up-and-coming scientist, Dr. Emmerson has been honored with multiple fellowships and prestigious training awards, including the AD/PD Junior Faculty Award (USA) and the FRQS Doctoral Fellowship (Canada). His current work continues to push the boundaries of translational neuroscience, aiming to bring new hope to patients and families affected by these devastating diseases.
