Yokoyama

Dr. Jennifer Yokoyama is a geneticist and neuroscientist studying how genomic variation shapes brain structure and function during aging and contributes to susceptibility to neurodegenerative disease. Her work integrates neurogenetics, genomics, transcriptomics, neuroimaging, bioinformatics, and clinical research to identify biological mechanisms underlying neurodegenerative diseases including Alzheimer’s disease and frontotemporal dementia. Through her interdisciplinary research program, Dr. Yokoyama aims to advance precision approaches for the early detection, characterization, and treatment of neurodegenerative disease. Dr. Yokoyama is an Associate Professor at the Edward and Pearl Fein Memory and Aging Center in the UCSF Departments of Neurology and Radiology & Biomedical Imaging. In addition to being the Mary Oakley Foundation Endowed Professor in Neurodegeneration, she also leads the UCSF Alzheimer Disease Research Center (ADRC) Biomarker Core and is a faculty member of the Global Brain Health Institute.
