Biography
Dr. Sideris-Lampretsas obtained his pharmacy degree from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece. He was subsequently awarded a Marie Curie Doctoral Fellowship to investigate neuroimmune interactions in chronic pain and Alzheimer’s disease under the supervision of Professor Marzia Malcangio at King’s College London. During his PhD, he discovered a previously unidentified mechanism through which sensory neurons contribute to nociception by activating immune cells in the spinal cord. After completing his doctorate, George joined the laboratory of Professor David Attwell at University College London, where he currently researches brain blood flow and neuroimmune mechanisms in Alzheimer’s Disease.
