Biography
Dr. Tijms is an associate professor at the Alzheimer Center Amsterdam and the leader of the Neurodegeneration program of Amsterdam Neuroscience. She is fascinated by the brain’s capability to learn and adjust itself in health and disease, and how much people can differ in these capabilities. Her group focuses on understanding the biological mechanisms of heterogeneity in dementia causing disorders, as she thinks that this is key for developing personalised treatments.
