Biography
Dr. Anna Podlesny-Drabiniok is an instructor in Dr. Alison Goate’s laboratory in the Department of Genetics and Genomic Sciences at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Podlesny-Drabiniok obtained her PhD from the University of Strasbourg in France, where she focused on transcription factors that control neuron-microglia interactions in major depressive disorders. She has recently completed her postdoctoral training in Dr. Goate’s laboratory and has reported on a few transcription factors that regulate disease-associated microglial responses in Alzheimer’s disease. She is investigating transcription factors as regulators of different microglial states in neurodegenerative diseases to identify new therapeutic targets. Dr. Podlesny-Drabiniok has received fellowship support from BrightFocus Foundation and the Training Program in Stem Cell Biology from the New York State Department of Health.
