This event featured two glaucoma experts, Amy Zhang, MD and Amy Mehta, MD, who discussed important questions you should ask your doctor about your glaucoma diagnosis.

Join us and guest speaker Dr. Nazlee Zebardast who will explain narrow-angle glaucoma and how it is diagnosed. She will also discuss a procedure called Laser Peripheral Iridotomy (LPI) used in narrow-angle glaucoma.

Michael Lin, MD discusses some of the tests you may experience during your glaucoma appointments including, eye pressure checks, visual field test, and other imaging tests.

This event featured Dr. Shivani Kamat, Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology, and a glaucoma surgeon at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. Dr. Kamat discussed daily habits that may help manage glaucoma such as exercise routines, a healthy diet, sleeping position and more.

This event featured Dr. Ahmad A. Aref, MBA of the Illinois Eye & Ear Infirmary, a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in glaucoma and cataract surgery, who discusses Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgeries, also called MIGS.

This monthly event featured Dr. Constance Okeke, MD, MSCE, who shared helpful tips for taking charge of a glaucoma diagnosis such as what symptoms to look for, knowing family history, who is susceptible to getting glaucoma, having a trusted doctor/patient relationship, and how glaucoma can come with aging.

BrightFocus Foundation hosted this event with Dr. Tania Tai to discuss glaucoma and to provide the latest news from science on treatments available for it.

Dr. Vajaranant is an ophthalmic surgeon, physician-scientist, and educator. She currently serves as a Professor of Ophthalmology, Vice-Chair for Strategic Initiatives, Director of Glaucoma Service, and Director of the Ai-Ophthalmology Center Data Sourcing and Strategy at the Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary of the University of Illinois Chicago.
