Joshua Dunaief, MD, PhD is the Adele Niessen Professor of Ophthalmology and Vice Chair for Research at Scheie Eye Institute, Perelman School of Medicine University of Pennsylvania. He has cared for patients with age-related macular degeneration (AMD) since 2000, and his lab focuses on developing new understanding and treatment of AMD. Dr. Dunaief’s lab has published over 65 peer-reviewed articles related to AMD. He was given the Cogan Award by the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology in 2006, and has served as a moderator and speaker at several recent international meetings on AMD.
