My wife was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2012. As a former PhD researcher, I investigated funding groups of Alzheimer’s research and found BrightFocus. I was impressed by their structure and funding programs. So I began donating for research. While my wife has now passed away, Alzheimer’s still requires adequate funding to find its cure.

I was diagnosed with age-related macular degeneration at age 52. By the age of 65, I was legally blind. I became a donor to BrightFocus Foundation and its Macular Degeneration Research program. I Initially made my donation by personal check. Thus, I accomplish two goals: A donation to assist macular degeneration medical research and reduce our family’s tax liability. It is a win-win for my family.
