Biography
Dr. Stuart Gardiner currently administers the Portland Progression Project (P3) longitudinal study of glaucomatous progression, whose cohort will be used for this project. His undergraduate and graduate training was as a medical statistician. He then applied his training as a biostatistician to glaucoma research during his PhD studies, before taking a postdoctoral research position at Devers Eye Institute, primarily analyzing and interpreting longitudinal functional data from glaucoma patients of the type that forms a large component of this project. He was soon offered a permanent position with 100% of his time devoted to research, and pursues interests in functional and structural non-invasive testing methods for glaucoma. He has authored or co-authored 165 peer-reviewed publications to date, with an h-index of 50; served as an editorial board member of IOVS since 2014; and been Principal Investigator on 4 NIH R01 grants.
