Biography

Qi Cui is the F.M. Kirby Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Pennsylvania, Scheie Eye Institute. Dr. Cui completed medical and graduate training through the Medical Scientist Training Program at the University of Rochester School of Medicine, followed by ophthalmology residency at the University of California, San Francisco and glaucoma fellowship at the Wills Eye Hospital. In addition to providing clinical and surgical care for patients with glaucoma, Dr. Cui is active in both clinical and basic science research with active support from the NIH/NEI. Her research aims to understand how pathogenic mechanisms other than intraocular pressure contribute to glaucomatous vision loss. Dr. Cui currently serves as Associate Program Director of Resident Research at the University of Pennsylvania, Scheie Eye Institute, and is active in multiple professional societies, having served in the Annual Meeting Programming Committee (AMPC) at the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO), as Co-Chair of Surgery Day at the annual meeting of the American Glaucoma Society (AGS), and is Co-Chair of Glaucoma Subspecialty Day for the annual meeting of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO).
