Dr. Cameron is an Assistant Professor and Staff in the Department of Ophthalmic Research at the Cleveland Clinic. His research focuses on understanding the contributions of reactive astrocytes in the pathogenesis of glaucoma and the development of novel astrocyte-targeted gene therapies to treat vision loss. Dr. Cameron holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Neuroscience and an M.S. in Applied Molecular Biology from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. He completed postdoctoral fellowships in the Departments of Ophthalmology at Stanford University and UCSD School of Medicine where he identified novel signaling pathways that control astrocyte responses to retinal injury and pioneered the development of the first astrocyte-targeted gene therapies for ocular disorders.
