Summary
High pressure inside the eye is the main risk factor for development and progression of glaucoma. We will develop a new experimental model of glaucoma that accurately mimics what happens in the human eye when it is exposed to high pressure. We will use this model to determine and quantify the rate of damage caused by glaucoma to ocular structures and the visual function and determine the biomechanical response of eye tissues to high pressure in the eye.
