At BrightFocus, we know that science is not possible without money — and money is not possible without people. The most valuable assets we have are the individuals dedicated to our cause. People like you are the reason we are able to boost our scientific agenda so that patients’ lives may be enhanced.
By participating in your employer’s "Matching Gift" program, or by starting your own personal “Challenge Gift” initiative, the impact you make in the lives of others can multiply.
You can increase your donation through your employer’s Matching Gift program. If your employer provides this program, let them know you support us. Joining a Matching Gift program is simple, and allows you to direct your contribution to a cause that is close to your heart.
This is a tremendous opportunity to more speedily advance the lifesaving work of BrightFocus Foundation and our three programs:
Use the tool below to find out if your company offers a matching gift program.
You can inspire your family, friends and business associates to join the BrightFocus team by creating your very own Challenge Gift. You can direct your donation to any one of our three programs and then ask others to match your gift — it’s that simple. Initiating a Challenge Gift is a wonderful way to support BrightFocus' life-altering mission while also acknowledging your personal fight against these diseases.
Challenge Gift Example
A loyal foundation in California initiated a $500,000 Gift Challenge for Alzheimer’s Disease Research (ADR) to be completed by the end of the fiscal year. They provided $250,000 to be matched by our direct mail donors and an additional $250,000 to be matched by our major donors.
The challenge was established in this way to help ADR not only provide current donors with a way to have their donation doubled but also to help ADR engage and acquire new donors. Through a wonderful response, $500,000 was raised in matching dollars, which enabled $1,000,000 of research to be initiated to help find the cure for Alzheimer’s.
