November is Alzheimer's Disease Awareness Month

Since 1975, BrightFocus has awarded more than $78 million in research grants to scientists at universities, hospitals, and medical centers around the world to advance innovative efforts to end Alzheimer's disease.

Alzheimer's Disease Awareness

ScientistNovember is Alzheimer's Disease Awareness Month, and we want to recognize and honor those who are living with Alzheimer's disease, as well as their families, friends, and caregivers. We are dedicated to finding a cure for this devastating neurological disease, which is the sixth leading cause of death and the only illness among the top ten for which there is no known effective prevention, disease-modifying treatment, or cure. Unless this changes, our nation will be overwhelmed by more than 15 million Americans facing Alzheimer's by 2050 at an annual cost of more than $1 trillion. We assure you that we will not rest until a cure is found.

Through its Alzheimer's Disease Research (ADR) program, BrightFocus is working to find ways to prevent, diagnose, and treat Alzheimer’s disease, the most common form of dementia. ADR supports the best research worldwide through an annual competitive grant program to support top scientists in the U.S. and abroad pursing innovative research.
