We Have Some Good News:
A Message from the BrightFocus President

On Friday, December 18, 2015, Congress approved a $350 million increase to Alzheimer’s research at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). I am hopeful that this action will accelerate the research and clinical trials leading us to a cure.

But our fight is far from over. Even with this dramatic increase, federal Alzheimer’s research is still only half of what experts say is needed annually to find an effective treatment by 2025. Some of the most groundbreaking science at NIH builds upon work begun by our Alzheimer’s Disease Research program, and is made possible by the generosity of supporters like you.

Thank you to the many people who contacted Congress in support of this significant increase. In the coming year, we will continue to urge our legislators to support research and programs for those impacted by this disease. I appreciate your engagement and activism, and look forward to continuing to work with you in the fight to end Alzheimer’s.
